While others may be happy to know that they have been placed in the list of the top 20 world's most Admired Celebrity, Taiwanese Jay Chou was just confused as to why he was even listed. Jay Chou said, "Comparing with popularity. I think to be respected by people is a great achievement for an artist.

As reported on HKO1, the singer as well as the songwriter, who was ranked at 19 in the list of men most admired by website YouGov, asked, "I should not be the youngest, right? I originally thought you have to be quite old to be 'respectable'. Then I saw Taylor Swift ranked 14th in the women's list, I realized I'm not." In addition to Jay, other Asian men stars in the list include Andy Lau and Jackie Chan.

Bill Gates was named the world's most admired man. while Angelina Jolie earned the top spot in the female category, followed by Queen Elizabeth II, Hillary Clinton, and Oprah Winfrey. There's no information to be given about why Jay, or any of the people in the list, were nominated (提名)for the list in the first place.

According to YouGov, an international Internet-based market research firm located in the UK, the nominations from 30 countries were gathered to talk about a single question: Thinking about people alive in the world today, which man or woman do you most admire?

The answers were later narrowed drawn to a list of 20 men and 20 women who received the most nominations and were nominated in at least two countries.
