once， when i was a teenager， my father and i were standing in line to buy tickets for the circus。 finally， there was only one family between us and the ticket counter。

this family made a big impression on me。 there were eight children， all probably under the age of 12。 you could tell they didn't have a lot of money。

their clothes were not expensive， but they were clean。 the children were well-behaved， all of them standing in line， two-by-two behind their parents， holding hands。 they were excitedly jabbering about the clowns， elephants， and other acts they would see that night。

one could sense they had never been to the circus before。 it promised to be a highlight of their young lives。 the father and mother were at the head of the pack， standing proud as could be。

the mother was holding her husband's hand， looking up at him as if to say， "you're my knight in shining armor。"

he was smiling and basking in pride， looking back at her as if to reply， "you got that right。"

the ticket lady asked the father how many tickets he wanted。 he proudly responded， "please let me buy eight children's tickets and two adult tickets so i can take my family to the circus。"

the ticket lady quoted the price。 the man's wife let go of his hand， her head dropped， and his lip began to quiver。 the father leaned a little closer and asked， "how much did you say?"

the ticket lady again quoted the price。 the man didn't have enough money。

how was he supposed to turn and tell his eight kids that he didn‘t have enough money to take them to the circus? seeing what was going on， my dad put his hand in his pocket， pulled out a $20 bill and dropped it on the ground。 (we were not wealthy in any sense of the word!)

my father reached down， picked up the bill， tapped the man on the shoulder and said， "excuse me， sir， this fell out of your pocket。"

the man knew what was going on。 he wasn't begging for a handout but certainly appreciated the help in a desperate， heartbreaking， embarrassing situation。 he looked straight into my dad's eyes， took my dad's hand in both of his， squeezed tightly onto the $20 bill， and with his lip quivering and a tear running down his cheek， he replied， "thank you， thank you， sir。 this really means a lot to me and my family。"

my father and i went back to our car and drove home。 we didn't go to the circus that night， but we didn't go without。

只听一声清脆悦耳的铃声把我从睡梦中唤醒，原以为是妈妈好友的电话，就不甚在意，接着睡了。可刚睡下一秒钟妈妈的河东狮吼又让我情不自禁的爬起来。原来今天要学英语！

听到这几个字后，我慌了，因为我的英语作业还没有完成。为了争取时间，我手脚并用，连忙把衣服套在身上，也不管有没有穿错。便提起袋子，就急急忙忙往楼下跑，坐上车子，直奔渔丰街。

在车上，我翻着空空如也的作业本，不知道老师该怎么惩罚我。再看看书本里的单词、句子、儿歌，有那个是我会的啊！我幻想着老师看到，听到后的动作、神情，心里就打了个寒颤。哎，都怪我把学英语的时间给忘了，不然待会儿就不用去看老师那沉重、难堪的脸色了。

到了那里，我的心便更急了，迈着沉重的脚步往里走，到了门口，我也不敢看老师，径直向自己的座位走去，我的心才稍稍放松了一点，我向前瞟了一眼，庆幸自己并不是最后一个。我拿出书，档着自己的脸，生怕老师的目光盯上我。哎，那种滋味可真不好受啊！

上课了，我的.心才平静了下来，认真听着老师讲课。

Mother’s Day is a holiday when children honor their mothers with cards, gifts and flowers. In many countries, such as Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey, Australia and the US, people celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May while many other countries of the world celebrate their own Mother’s day at different times through out the year.

One of the best ways to celebrate Mother’s Day is to give your mom the day off. Let her relax with the rest of the family doing all the housework. Usually, dad and the kids will let mom sleep late that morning as they go into the kitchen to prepare her favourite breakfast. Never forget to place a vase with a single flower on the table beside the food. The kids can pick up the flower from the garden or buy one from the shop. Arrange everything nicely before mom wakes up. Some families will carry the food and mom’s favourite sections from the newspaper to her bedroom so that mom can have breakfast in bed. Presents and cards from the kids can be handed to mom by themselves or just placed on the dining table.

After breakfast, go anywhere mom likes to go. Shopping, swimming or going on a picnic in the garden. Make a special Mother’s Day dinner or take mom out for a great meal in a famous restaurant she loves most.

Anyway ,let mom enjoy the whole day and feel your love, and then the Mother’s Day can be a good one. As Mother’s Day is around the corner, it’s time to take actions!

In addition, the growing number of students neglect their studies, idle away their time and even commit crimes thanks to CG., which is threatening situation we are unwilling to see. No better illustration of this idea can be thought than the example as mentioned below, a student, who had wanted to play CG but had little money ,made a reckless move to waylay and rob. CG, in some sense, is just like Pandora’s box, which gives rise to some undesirable results unexpectedly. Therefore, no issue is as crucial to inpidual and national survival and prosperity as bringing CG under control in China.

From what have been argued above , it is necessary that some effective steps be carried out to check CG. Only by undergoing these measures, can we make our youths live in healthy life style, which has just gone to the heart of building up the cordial society .
