My summer vacation of this year was very enjoyable. I went to the countryside to spend my summer holidays. It is very beautiful there. There are green plants, clear rivers, lovely animals kind people. I spent two weeks helping my grandfather do some farm work there. I wrote down what happened in my diary every day.

Besides that, I helped the children in the neighbourhood with their lessons. I helped them read English improve their spoken English. Their parents thanked me for this.

Towards love and learning， college teachers and students hold controversial views。

The majority of college teachers， especially old teachers， argue that students should give up love and concentrate on learning。 They say that campus love is-time-and energyconsuming and tears students away from their main task。 If a student ever falls in love， he/she will undoubtedly neglect his/ her studies and gradually lag behind his/her classmates。 A few teachers， therefore， suggest that the university authorities restore the traditional regulation against love during students’school years。

On the contrary， students hold that it is natural for young people to fall in love on the campus because they meet every day and their everyday meeting produces romantic passion towards each other。 They insist that the campus is not the Garden of Eden and love is not the Forbidden Tree。 They take for example some of their friends who， falling in love， are studying harder and have made greater progress to please their boy/girl friends。

In my opinion， both views are lop sided。 If astudent does not give himself/herself away in love but takes it as a drive， love produces positive effect。 But if he/she indulges himself/ herself too deeply in love， then he/she will be a devoted lover but a frustrated learner。

James Holland calls himself the eyes and ears of the Altamaha River. The 220 kilometer river he watches is relatively undisturbed by channels, dredging or major reservoirs. Its swamps and refuges are home to dozens of rare or endangered plants and animals including some found nowhere else on earth.

James Holland has spent a lifetime on the river as a crab fisherman, but blames the decline of fisheries, and the failure of his business, on poor water quality. Now as an advocate for the Altamaha, the 60 year old retired crabber responds to reports of erosion, loss of wetlands, and the illegal dumping of pollutants from agriculture and industry. James Holland finds garbage stashed in tree trunks and pools of diesel fuel and abandoned trucks at logging operations near the river. They were widening it and making improvements. And, in doing so they destroyed wetlands. They didnt have enough erosion control to prevent erosion. I went further on from the spray field and from the area where I could view the spray field, the guy up there was draining wetlands. I found a ditch where he was draining wetlands. I also found right there standing in one spot where he destroyed two wetlands in the last two or three years. Its just a whole hot of things. Its unreal is what it is.
