：“览诸道戒，无不云欲求长生者，必欲积善立 功，慈心于物，恕己及人，仁逮昆虫，乐人之吉，愍人之苦，赒人之急，救人之穷，手 不伤生，口不劝祸，见人之得如己之得，见人之失如己之失，不自贵，不自誉，不嫉妬 胜己，不佞谄阴贼，如此乃为有德，受福于天，所作必成，求仙可冀也。”主张神仙 养生为内，儒术应世为外。

“纪年曰：东海外有山曰天台，有登天之梯，有登仙之台，羽人所居。天台者，神鳌背负之山也，浮游海内，不纪经年。惟女娲斩鳌足而立四极，见仙山无着，乃移于琅琊之滨。后河上公丈人者登山悟道，授徒升仙，仙道始播焉。

有嵇康者，师黄老，尚玄学，精于笛，妙于琴，善音律，好仙神。是年尝游天台，观东海日出，赏仙山胜景，访太公故地，瞻仙祖遗踪，见安期先生石屋尚在，河上公坐痕犹存。至女巫之墓，墓与屋相连，人与鬼同居，乃叹曰：“阴阳两界，实一墙之隔耳”。遂夜宿仙台，见月光泻泻，清风徐徐，碧波荡荡，仙岛渺渺，天台巍巍，星汉迢迢。赞曰：大美不言，真人间仙境也!忽闻谷中琴声幽幽，玄乐绵绵。寻声觅去，至一茅舍。屏息静听，恐乱仙音也。曲终，一清丽女子开门曰：“先生光临寒舍，不胜荣幸。请入内稍坐”。康喜遇知音，欣然入室。备茶对坐，方知是谷中女巫。虽人鬼殊途，竟一见如故，彻夜长谈。或论天地自然生死轮回之法，或证诗词音律琴棋书画之妙。谈至兴浓，康曰“敢问神女所弹何曲?”神巫曰：“情之所至，信手而弹耳，无名之曲”。康请教再三，始授之，今《孤馆遇神》是也。神巫曰：“见先生爱琴，吾另有《广陵散》相赠。此乃天籁之音，曲中丈夫也，不可轻传”。康问“何人所为?”对曰：“广陵子是也。昔与聂政山中习琴，形同骨肉也”。康恍然大悟，恭请神女赐之，习至天明方散。

康毕生独爱此二曲，必择雅静高岗之地，风清月朗之时，深衣鹤氅，盥手焚香，方才弹之。虽有达官贵人求教，概不相传。及康将刑东市，三千太学生“请以为师”，终不得许。康刑前索琴而扶。玄起处风停云滞，人鬼俱寂，唯工尺跳跃于琴盘，思绪滑动于指尖，情感流淌于五玄，天籁回荡于苍天，仙乐袅袅如行云流水，琴声铮铮有铁戈之声，惊天地，泣鬼神，听者无不动容。曲毕慨然长叹：“袁孝尼尝请学此散，吾靳固不与，《广陵散》于今绝矣!”，竟慷慨赴死。海内之士，莫不痛之。”
