People are generally discontent with their lot(destiny) in life, and always think others have it better. As is depicted in the symbolic picture above , several sheep are standing on each side of a fence, and all are looking across to the luscious grass of the neighboring field and thinking "His grass looks better than mine!" The sheep and their thought speak like a modern fable to the viewer.

In reality, many people are like these sheep, ever searching the supposedly greener pastures. To them, there is always a better job, a better car, or a more spacious department yet to be obtained. The instant when this desired job, car or department is finally theirs, however, it would immediately lose its appeal. There would be still other jobs, cars of departments that are much more desirable. More often than not, actually, the grass is not necessarily greener on the other side. It looks more attractive simply because it is "on the other side of the fence".

Life is largely a matter of perspective. Perhaps it would be wise to remember that to some people you are on the other side of the fence, right now. Perhaps you should take a moment to soak in the greenness found here already. Stop complaining and be content with the here and now. Remember the old saying: "Happiness is wanting what you have rather than getting what you want.
