Compared to the universe, our lives are really short, just like a meter. But the meaning of life doesn’t depend on its length but contributions. For example, Marie Curie, in order to find the radium, she devoted her whole life to the research. Though the radioactive element had shorter her life, she never gave up her mind to serve the world. According to her story, I conclude that the first meaning of life is contribution. The standard ofjudging a life isn’t how much he asks for but how much he gives away.

The second meaning of life is struggling for our goals. Each of us has goals, such as longing for position, hoping for wealth and looking forward to beloved. However, the path leading to them isn’t filled with roses. But no matter how tough to accomplish our dream we should never say die. If you really want to achieve them, please keep diligent and patient just like an English motto goes;“No pains ,no gains.”

The third meaning of life is happiness. Not only should we keep happy, but also bring enjoyment to others example, we can have an optimistic attitude which can affect the people in our surroundings. Besides, we are supposed to be ready to help others, because in this way we can make both us and them happy .I consider it an unchangeable truth that ‘Helping others creates happiness.’

just want to say, the lives for us are limited, but we are able to make efforts to make it shine out eve it, though our lives are rather short, we can also make a hit we try our best, our lives will be meaningful as well.

recently, a professor of philosophy in the united states has written a book called money and the meanlng of life。 he has discovered that how we deal with money in our day-to-day life has more meaning than we usually think。 one of the exercises he asked his students to do is to keep a record of every penny they spend for a week。from the way they spend their money, they can see what theyreally value in life。

he says our relation with others often becomes clearly defined when money enters the picture。 you might have a wonderful friendship with somebody and you think that you are very good friends。 but you will know him only when you ask him to lend you some money。 if he does, it brings something to the relationship that seems stronger than ever before。 or it can suddenly weaken the relationship if he doesn't。 this person may say that he has a certain feeling, but if it is not carried out in the money world, there is something less real about it。

people just have an idea of XXX more and more money, but what is it for? how much do i need for any given purposes in my life7 in his book, the professor uncovered an important need in modern society: to bring back the idea that money is an instrument rather than the end。 money plays an important role in the material world, but expecting money to give happiness may be missing the meaning of life。

The famous saying “The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it” is rather thought-provoking, which tells us the real meaning of life. It is contemporary social issue in China with common interests and permanent value.

In my view, there are good reasons to undertake meaningful things that exert positive and profound influence on society, such as protecting the environment, helping vulnerable groups as well as promoting education. To illustrate, Abraham Lincoln never wavered in his devotion to democracy and equality, whose life has become an inspiration in the United States and throughout the whole world. His life, though limited, definitely lasts longer, and is a life worth living. Likewise, a young person who aspires to be a great writer might decide to buy some literary books or spend weekends writing and refining his works. Without any aspiration, he might simply end up spending all his spare time surfing online or playing Internet games.

In brief, a meaningful life serves to motivate and guide us in our daily lives. It provides us with the focus and direction that enable us to work towards accomplishing a special goal, objective or task.

"What is the meaning of life?" This is a question that we all ask ourselves at one point or another of our existence here. It is a question that I have asked myself many times over the years.

The best answer that I ever came across was written by the greatpsychologist, Viktor Frankl who had survived the Nazi Concentration camps in World War II. Frankl wrote that "The meaning of life is to give life meaning.

When I was a young boy I gave my life meaning by simply playing, running, jumping, swimming, laughing, and riding my bike.

When I went to school I gave my life meaning by learning, studying hard, getting good grades and trying to make my Mom and Dad proud.

When I was a teenage boy I found meaning in playing sports, hanging out with my friends, and trying to impress girls.

In college I found my meaning by deciding what I wanted to study and what career I wanted to prepare for.

When I was working as a teacher I found meaning in helping to open young minds to new ideas and old wisdom.

When I married and had children I found meaning in protecting, providing for, and watching over those I loved.

When I found out both of my sons were mentally handicapped I found meaning in loving them, caring for them, and learning so much from them about life, love, compassion, patience, faith, and joy.

As I got older too I began to realize that meaning isn’t something that comes and goes.

We can give meaning to every moment of our lives here. We can bring meaning to the thoughts we think.

We can bring meaning to the things we do. We can bring meaning to the hearts we touch.

All we have to do is love. It is love that gives life meaning. It is love that makes life worth living.

Have you thought about what you want people to say about you after you're gone? Can you hear the voice saying, "He was a great man." Or "She really will be missed." What else do they say?

One of the strangest phenomena of life is to engage in a work that will last long after death. Isn't that a lot like investing all your money so that future generations can bare interest on it? Perhaps, yet if you look deep in your own heart, you'll find something drives you to make this kind of contribution---something drives every human being to find a purpose that lives on after death.

Do you hope to memorialize your name? Have a name that is whispered with reverent awe? Do you hope to have your face carved upon 50 ft of granite(花岗岩,坚毅) rock? Is the answer really that simple? Is the purpose of lifetime contribution an ego-driven desire for a mortal being to have an immortal name or is it something more?

A child alive today will die tomorrow. A baby that had the potential to be the next Einstein will die from complication is at birth. The circumstances of life are not set in stone. We are not all meant to live life through to old age. We've grown to perceive life as a full cycle with a certain number of years in between. If all of those years aren't lived out, it's a tragedy. A tragedy because a human's potential was never realized. A tragedy because a spark was snuffed out before it ever became a flame.

By virtue of inhabiting a body we accept these risks. We expose our mortal flesh to the laws of the physical environment around us. The trade off isn't so bad when you think about it. The problem comes when we construct mortal fantasies of what life should be like. When life doesn't conform to our fantasy we grow upset, frustrated, or depressed.

We are alive; let us live. We have the ability to experience; let us experience. We have the ability to learn; let us learn. The meaning of life can be grasped in a moment. A moment so brief it often evades our perception.

What meaning stands behind the dramatic unfolding of life? What single truth can we grasp and hang onto for dear life when all other truths around us seem to fade with time?

These moments are strung together in a series we call events. These events are strung together in a series we call life. When we seize the moment and bend it according to our will, a will driven by the spirit deep inside us, then we have discovered the meaning of life, a meaning for us that shall go on long after we depart this Earth.
